Honoring General Douglas MacArthur, an influential military leader during World War II, the MacArthur Memorial contains many buildings that speak to the story of man and the events that took place during his life. Visitors can see the rotunda where MacArthur and his wife are buried, watch a 24-minute film on the general in the site's theater, learn about the general's service at the museum in City Hall or visit the memorial library where MacArthur's personal items are stored and thousands of books, photos and videos about his life and times are contained. MacArthur Square, where the memorial sites reside, are located in downtown Norfolk, close to the Nauticus National Maritime Center and The Waterside shopping and entertainment center.
